A LITTLE NOTE

Olive Dusk is inspired by life in slowness, curiosity, the people we love, and a little everyday magic. Our designs are meticulously sewn by hand and require a lot of time, patience and love. Every piece has a story and is thoughtfully named. We hope that wearing your Olive Dusk jewelry brings you a sense of calm, comfort and contentment and reminds you to savour life in the now. THE MAKING OF

Every design starts with an exploration of various mediums and sketches on paper. We hand sew the first raw prototype and repeat several rounds of material exploration, drafting and calculating patterns, and sewing a new prototype. During this process, we fine-tune little design details, craftsmanship and finishing. Each prototype goes through a test-run for comfort, strength, durability, and wearability before a design becomes part of our collection.

MATERIALS

Our first collection of simple, understated jewelry features Japanese glass beads as our primary medium. These glass beads are manufactured by the first and oldest Japanese seed bead maker, and are renowned for their brilliance, excellence, perfection, and uniform shape and size. These are combined with high quality sparkly glass crystals made in Austria and carefully selected natural and man-made gemstones. Every Olive Dusk piece is held together by fine and durable Japanese beading thread - no wires, glue, felt, or leather are used, keeping our pieces ultra light and comfortable to wear.

At first glance, our designs are predominantly white. On closer look, they're each a playful mix of subtle colours, lustre, textures, shapes, sizes, and structure.
